some of you may remember back in september i vowed to clear out my bedroom (post here) but i was so busy and distracted before xmas that i never quite got round to it. now that i have decided to make decluttering my bedroom one of my new years resolutions i decided to get straight into it and get it done as soon as possible. i quite like clearing things out. in fact i find it quite therapeutic so this has been quite a welcomed break from revision!
i'm going to do differnt parts of my room as different posts and then just tell you how i did my clear out and some tips for doing that particular area in case you want to join me in the 'clear out challenge'!
i've decided to start with my dressing table as it's the area i use tend to use the most, however when it is as messy as it was before the clearout this is very difficult!
♥ to start my clear out i got some new storage units. the small ones on the desk (it is 2 stacked on top of each other) was a xmas present and are from poundsaver (£7.99 i think?) whereas the larger one is from mattalan (£20)
♥ once i had somewhere to put everything i started to go through my costmetic products. that meant putting them into one of four piles: keep, give and make-up, project 10 pan or bin.
♥ those in the keep pile went into the storage units and those in the project 10 pan pile are in the wooden box at the side of the big unit. the smaller clown box is to keep anything i use up during project 10 pan before i get the chance to photograph it.
♥ the basket on top of the larger unit is my 'ready to review' basket. meaning that i have photographed all these products and they are now ready to be trialed and then reviewed.
♥ the big hamper under the main dressing table is full of random items. things like medicine, plasters, candles, inscence, unopened face wipes etc so i can get to them easily but they don't take up loads of space.
i feel amazing for clearing out this area but sadly the challenge is far from over! feel free to join me in decluttering your room for the new year!
have you got any storage tips? how can i be more ruthless when i'm clearing out?
